No EC demand that Twinings repay €12m Polish grant

The European Commission (EC) has questioned the role played by the Polish authorities in Twinings’ application for a controversial €12m grant to build a factory that will see almost 400 UK jobs axed, but has not asked that the money be repaid. Premier Foods has struck a deal with Exponent Private Equity and Intermediate Capital Group to sell its meat-free business Quorn and Cauldron Foods in a £205m deal. Legislation formalising RASFF procedure to come into force

A regulation formally laying down the implementation measures for the European Commission’s Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) will come into force at the end of this month. Unilever to create “green energy” at ice cream factory

Unilever is to create “green energy” at its Ben and Jerry’s ice cream factory in Holland by installing a bio-digester which converts natural waste products into gas. Availability dropped to 96.8% in run up to Christmas

Availability at the leading supermarkets dropped to just 96.8% in December 2010 as wintery weather disrupted supplies, according to the latest ECR UK on-shelf availability survey.
